Didier TERME
Work on doodles began in 2015. The first works on paper in their current form were created in 2017. Using this technique, Didier Terme creates forms that offer us multiple interpretations. Depending on whether we are close to the work or farther away, whether we are looking at it head-on or sideways, our visual perceptions shift, and the mind can freely focus on each of them. Thus, the painter's work invites us to follow the well-known path of the "museum visitor," who approaches the work, brushing it with their face to appreciate its "detail," and then steps back a few meters to grasp its full scope. Didier Terme "scribbles." This technique came to him through successive attempts over the course of his career as a painter. Combining a manual work with inks, felt-tip pens, Posca and painstaking work with the computer tool, the interest of this fusion lies in the ability to obtain nuances, superpositions and unprecedented transparencies in the rendering. The forms themselves are no longer "drawn" but evoked by the multiplicity of graffiti. Didier Terme edits his files into unique works on museum-quality paper and in large dimensions so that the contact with the viewer is brutal and instantaneous. It is a real research work that he devotes himself to, and all the pleasure he takes in it is reflected in the finished work.
