Elisabeth VON WREDE
Elisabeth von Wrede was born in Germany in 1968. She is passionate about all forms of creation, especially painting. Influenced by artists from her homeland such as Günther Uecker and Heinz Mack, who were close friends of her family, she studied and discovered painting with Japanese artist Keiji Uematsu for several years. Arriving in France, she pursued a variety of training courses, such as bookbinding and leather painting, with artists such as Sün Evrard and Florent Rousseau. Following training with Thibault de Réimpré, she chose to devote her talent to painting and sculpture. She handles the violence of our lives with dynamism and power, with a wild passion. Then, having become patient, she slows down her pace and adds softness and poetry, with her famous white strokes applied with a palette knife. Since 1989, she has lived and painted in France and presents herself as an artist who straddles the divide between lyrical abstraction and conceptual art. Her sparkling white is instantly recognizable; this white square is more than a signature, it's her trademark! A true artistic identity.
