Biography
Born in 1948, a graduate in sculpture from the École des Beaux-Arts in Rouen in the studio of René LELEU, this "young artist of 75 years old" as he likes to define himself, has exhibited in all the major Parisian salons and won the most prestigious national prizes.
His bronzes and Carrara marbles are the delight of major international collectors, major salons and museums. Michel Bassompierre shows us, with great humility, how much he excels in the study of drawing and forms. His animals, bears, horses, gorillas or elephants, all gently, let themselves be caressed by the light. The artist likes to play with shadows to better highlight the volumes.
