Biography
His artist name, Janmar, is a childhood memory. It's what his parents called him long before he became a painter. Jean-Marie Chassé was born in 1974 in Meulan, in the Yvelines department, and since the opening of Espace Mékano, he has had his studio in Rezé.
Janmar may have set out to follow in his father's footsteps, an engineer at Aérospatiale. But after earning a DEUG (general university studies diploma) in science, he switched to fine arts:
